    Hello

    I"m hoping that you can help. I've been using Microsoft Reader for about three years and have never had a problem until now. For some reason now, when I open the reader or a .lit file, I get a message that the Reader has to close now. This has never happened before.:(

    I have removed it and downloaded it several times with the same result. It will open for just a minute then close.

    This is the error message that I get:

    SubType= 00000000
    FileDate= 00000000=00000000

    I can add the rest if it's needed.

    Also the following file is included in the error report
    C\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\9c6c_appcompat.txt

    I have over one hundred MSReader Ebooks and would really love to get this problem fixed. I tried looking through the Microsoft Knowledge Base to no avail.

    I am really hoping that someone here can help.

    Thank you very much for answering my question. I will try this this afternoon and let you know if it works. I didn't say but I'm using Reader on my PC.

    :cry Okay I tried the first suggestion and it didn't work. Still have the same problem. SP Version of Reader is 2.O. I'm using it on my PC. And prior to the error I did up date Java.

    Humm, so I will try your suggestion now.

    Thanks
    Tricia
