    * Microsoft Security Advisory (953818)
    - Title: Blended Threat from Combined Attack
    Using Apple's Safari on the Windows
    Platform
    - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/953818.mspx

    I have Safari installed, haven't used for sometime. Should I uninstall it or not using it will be safe.

    Thanks in advance for any/all help.

    Windows and Apple software dont mix ( I hazard a wild guess that the milliosn of iTunes users would argue that point of yours )!!!??? and if you actually read the advisory then would know that Apple do have a version of Safari for Windows PCs which works fine, in which its likely that luckyvic has the Windows version of Safari installed.

    to Luckyvic, while all software can at times have security issues, they do not always come into real use, they are just possibles( these advsories come out for many softwares all the time, most exploits do not come into the mainstream as there is only a slim chance of them actually under the correct circumstances being used to attack a PC or Software ), so with all things keep the software upto date or if not using it uninstall, but in reality they are generally not major issues so as I have safari also installed I wont be removing it as my security software is upto date and I will as advised restrict my browsing to IE or Firefox until a Safari update is available.

    Funny enough in a recient test on hacking the 3 main OSes in Windows, Linux and OSX, the main area that allowed the hackers to gain access to the machine was Safari!! and that was on OSX PC not A Windows OS one, so its likely that they are making sure this is not going to happen on a Windws PC.

    OK, I went ahead and uninstalled it. I really didn't use it since I already have IE, Opera, Mozilla FireFox and Avant Browser and mainly use IE and MF (the wife likes Opera and my son likes AB).
    Thank you scott_hayes89 and Halo for both of your help, I really appreciate it.
