MSE keeps warning me that I have not run a scan for 'sometime' when, in fact I ran one about four hours ago and it displays this fact in the home page. :confused
Does anyone else get this same warning?

Even running a full scan occasionally does not stop it nagging after about four hours. :confused

Do you run Ccleaner by any chance?

Yes, I run Ccleaner about once a week or so.
    Is that the reason?

It may be. On the Applications tab, under Windows, uncheck MS Antimalware. Running it causes these scan prompts.

Thanks for the info, Earthling. Have unchecked it and will see how we go now.

Let us know how it goes. Something is clearing the scan flag and CCleaner is known to do so, but possibly there may be other causes.

After running Ccleaner with the MS Antimalware unchecked, it came back with the nag about not having run a scan for some time.
So I unchecked MS Antimalware logs and also MS Antimalware scan results in the same section of Ccleaner and it has behaved itself today, even with the last scan being late last night.

Thanks for heading me in the right direction. :highfive

You must be using the paid for Home version. I use the free version which doesn't have those additional options but does stop MSE from nagging you ;)

    Thanks for the feedback.

Not the paid for version, just the free Ccleaner v3.16.1666(64bit)

Those two options were 4th and 5th items down in the Windows List under Applications.
they are among some with a '*' next to the name, not sure what that indicates.

mmm...that's odd. Exact same version here, but none of those options :confused

Just a guess since I don't use it - is CCEnhancer being used showing these extra items?

I have CCEnhancer and AFAIK it shows the extra items with a * but not the 2 extra ones that the OP mentioned, only MS Antimalware that I have unticked. I don't get the announcement from MS Antimalware about not having scanned.

I am sure that I have never downloaded or installed CCEnhancer.
One point is that the two items that appear in Ccleaner with the * symbol on my PC are NOT showing on my laptop which is the same OS (Win7 Home Premium) and the same version of Ccleaner.
The laptop does not nag me about running a scan after 3 or 4 hours.

We seem to have cured the nag even without being sure of what was causing it.

    Thanks Guys.

Looks like Ken and Oma were right.
I have just looked in Programs > Ccleaner and there is a file named "winapp2 configuration settings" and another named "Ccleaner configuration settings".
They are not in Programs on the laptop.
Having moved them to the Recycle bin, the two items with * are no longer in the Applications Windows section of Ccleaner.

Will leave them there for now and see how I get on.
