Hello, I own microsoft office 2003 on my desktop xp system and would like to also run it on my laptop. I don't want to shell out big $ to get a second set of disk and cd key and also don't think I should have to. This is for personal use not business. Is there a way or am i going to get sued for stealing my own software?

    Hahaha.

    No.

No worries, they aren't going to bust you for your own software. Yes, they would be within their Legal rights to seek money from you, but in reality, they don't, and won't.

I hate to say it but 'the other way' would be ...ehem...not-so-legal and since the crack/hack topics are neither allowed nor supported here I suggest you seek help elsewhere....'elsewhere' would possibly cause spyware infection so while you are at it, read related stickies on the "Spyware Specific" section of the forum.. :)

Not sure about 2003, but earlier versions of the license agreement allowed you to put a copy on desktop and laptop for PERSONAL use only.

Thanks mcadam for searching for the link ;)

I posted that link with all the Office 2003 EULAs, if you read the specific one for you then you will find out like in any software, what you can and cannot do with the licence.

again for Office 2003 Pro versions Eula states this....

so yes you can install it on your personal laptop as well as your PC.

as for activation it will most likely need activation on the laptop as well so that it can be verified that you are not using it on more PCs than your licence is for. If you install it I bet it will gve you the same 30day period before you'll need to activate.
