When I go to the Microsoft update site I get this message

    [Error number: 0x8DDD0003]
Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get updates for your computer.

If you believe you have received this message in error, please contact your system administrator.

Do you know if the Windows Live OneCare disables this in the registry so you can't run it manually by going to the web site or did the Malware I had do this?

When I was searching around the internet I found both the links you mentioned. The Microsoft fix did not work. I was a little leary when I found the second link but since you suggested it I went ahead and tried it.

Seems to have done the trick.

    Thanks fo the help
