Microsoft updates

I have been having a problem in that an update entitled "Security Update for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 (KB2464594)" will not update. THis has been going on since 12 April when it was published. Is it that important and if not how can I stop it appearing as new updates are not downloaded until this one is installed and I have to do them manually. I only update the important ones.

If you go into windows update (or microsoft update), and show all available updates, you should be able to right click on this update and select Hide. You won't be shown this update anymore. Be advised, however, that updates that rely on this update being installed won't install properly.

Hi

I would try manually installing that one HERE and then see if you have other updates as their have been quite a few of Office recently and best to stay up to date, especially as the notification on this one is:

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened. This update resolves that vulnerability.

sorry to jump in here, but i have the same problem with this security update, however im running 2010 software, do i really need this update or should i try and get it to install somehow

Won't install here either (Vista SP2, Office 2007), not even manually. It's the only thing stopping 100% on Secunia
