I am new to Major Geeks and hope I am presenting this problem correctly.

Whenever I run IE 6.0 or Outlook Express 6.0, I get the following in the toolbar (beside the Start key in Windows XP Home Edition): "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" This prevent Norton Antivirus LiveUpdate (NAV version 11.0.9.16 in Norton Systemworks 2005) from automatically running among other things.

I have communicated with Symantec and done all they have directed for removing, reinstalling LiveUpdate....and have uninstalled and reinstalled all Symantec programs.

I have run Webroot SpySweeper and removed all the spyware. I have run Reg Organizer and cleaned up all the problems in the Windows Registry.

    ...but the problem persists

Any suggestions on what I can do to remove this problem?
