I tried to download this several times last night...Either I got errors or it just kept hanging on the download...
I tried both IE and Firefox to no avail...Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Ill stay with Adaware, and spybot S&D.

If your smart about browsing you will keep your system clean in the first place. I think in the last month i have only pulled 5 suspicious items off my computer.

At what point have you got too many antispyware programs?
I already have Adaware, Spybot S&D, Spyblaster and recently I added the Yahoo Antispy. I also run McAfee Viruscan which I understand also checks for spyware while scanning for viruses.

I am very new to this internet world, so I am still learning. That said, AdAware & Spybot S&D have saved my butt a number of times. Also I would have a tough time trusting Microsoft to keep me secure from ALL spyware. I tend to stick with what works

    Heh, I trust MS.

    Wanna know why?

Because we fix this day in and day out for the people out there who can't seem to pay attention to what they do on the net and bork their machines.

Every single day. Number 1 call.

Well I'm glad there are people like you who can help the "borkers"(seriously). But you are right, people need to pay attention to where they go on the net and what they use the net for. :)

Other than cookies and generic stuff like WMP's user ID, I've never actually had a spyware app to remove. But I'm pretty choosy about what gets installed.

Pretty easy to do if the only site you go to is Major Geeks.;):D

Yeah, but I bet those are the "safe sex" sites. Not much chance to get anything.:D

On the MS anit spy: I got it last night. Installed Kazaa and stuff. It seems to work just fine. It would actually ask me if I wanted to install the bad stuff or not. Of course I said "yes". Only way to test the stuff.

I stuck a link to some screenshots on my blog the other day that i found on neowin. I didn't really like GIANT to start with, I'm not sure MS will change my opinion. Even if it does remove lots of stuff.

But its good to see MS are getting a bit more responsible about their software.

I gave the beta version a try. With the other anti mal-ware programs running
I ran into slowdowns that were not there before. The M$ program was uninstalled after two+ days.

I downloaded and ran it yesterday - it said it found and removed 7 spyware and their variants.

Ran adaware immediately afterword - it found 43 more spyware programs.

Not very impressive. Its now uninstalled.

Nothing weird, I swear. Everytime I go online, I run adaware at the end and find at least 20 spyware. I've tried keeping adwatch on, but it seems to screw up the computer.

Microsoft A.S Beta *cough* *cough* I don't know why I havent deleted it yet. it is the biggest piece of garbage out there I've come accross so far. It is worse then Spy Bot which in my opinion is not able to do sweet f*k all.
I don't usually get infected unless one of the oldies messes around and cops something but spyware = FORMAT :) sweet and short. Back up all your programs and files, and as for all the heavy updates if you're on dial-up cough cough at least put sp2 on a cd.
Ahhh my feloow geeks.. so so many new things...

M.A.AS. missed quite a few things, ran it and it picked up one thing, then ran ad aware and got 14 unrecognised items. Not sure it's quite ready for me.
