microsoft word problem!

hey all i'm doing a project that i have to type and every time i forget something like say i forget a word inn a paragraph and i go to put that word in it deletes the leters in after that word causing me to have to rewrite from after that word that i forgot in my paragraph its driving me crazy!
i have to do each sentence or paragraph like 3 time

if any one could help that would be very apreciated
hopefully someone can reply fairly quick before my comp go's out the window thanks alot all

Check to make sure that "insert" is on/off.

 

i'm not the best witht this program could you tell me where to find insert and turn it of thanks alot

I did it thanks alot i didn't know you meant the insert key on my keyboard i thought you meant in the program
