might have a little problem

ok i bought guild wars today and well yeah its fun....but i get the freaking blue screen of death....it says something about drivers and bios....but when i did what the screen told me to it still messes up.... ok don't laugh but i'm not using any special graphics cards.....heres the specs

ok so the game runs but has random blue screens of death....as you can see the game at least requires a 32mb card....but isn't my card 32 mb? and if so then why is it blue screening me? i'm going to move on to a radeon 9000 cause you can find them pretty cheap and i know that their good cards but if anybody has any tips on how to do get it to not blud screen me until i can afford it i would be very greatful.....ty

 

Okay well if the game runs for a while and only crashes after you've played you should check if it's not over heating. When you play other games does it also do it? Download Speed Fan from this site and check. Any temperatures over 60 are bad. As a temporary solution if it is overheating open up your side panel and point a fan onto it and then blow. Another thing is that your graphics card is on its way to hardware heaven, in that case try to get a new one ASAP.

 

no i don't have any problems and like the game only does it if i try to switch weapons fast or if like i try to buy/sell stuff at a shop...go figure...

 

maybe it's a bug in the game (infact I'm pretty sure that's what it is)? are you running the latest patch are your graphics drivers up to date? Check it in google. Cheers.

 

i got the latest driver updates...and i just installed the game today and had to go through a big patch file but i guess i could check the guildwars website and see if their is like another patch or somehting

man i dunno i got the latest chipset and been looking around and all that got the latest drivers and went to the intel website and they said my card isn't being made anymore so they won't like take any comments or anything involving the chipset. i went to the guildwars website and then tried to look for patches but they don't have any and i tried to contact guildwars but they don't have a way to contact them. so i dunno i can play i just can't like mess w/ the inventory in the game or shop or anything like that.....but i'm gonna try and get a radeon 9000 cause then the game will look awesome....

 

Ya it's a pity. However I belive that you should have no problems with the new graphics card. I know how much it sucks when you have a game that you really want to play but can't. And part of the fun of playing RPG's is playing around in the inventory and selling junk you pick up for cash. Hopefully you can get your graphics card soon.

 

dude on that website you gave me of the guildwarsguru i was reading and i found a trick that turned of the shaders and pixel readers so the card isn't so stressed and it stopped messing up like no joke i was switching my weapons as fast as i could and was going around and selling junk and it was crazy wicked thanks thanks alot

Good you were able to fix the problem.

I would still consider upgrading your graphics though, your missing out on all of the cool eye candy that your card can't display.
