Migrate Problem

Just bought a new Sandisk 500 G when trying to migrate it with Paragon Migrate I get this message "Due to technical reasons this tool cannot migrate Oses installed on dynamic volumes" Using Win 8.1. Need help! T.I.A.

Sorry nothing worked says the disk needs to go from dynamic to basic?

 

On that other thread, posters asked you some questions, one of which about why you were using DVD instead of USB. It's usually best to try and answer each point people raise, then all is much clearer for you and them.

As you now have help on the other site I'm leaving this be other than to say a screenshot of Disk Management is what the poster needs and what I was about ask you for.

 

Which drive, internal or external? AOMEI Partition Assistant has a Dynamic Disk Converter that will allow you to convert the dynamic disk to a basic disk. I don't know how it will affect the operation though as I don't use it. All of my disks are basic.

 

Just a word of caution - your helper on the other site is repeatedly telling you that logical and dynamic are one and the same thing, which is entirely incorrect. It seriously casts doubt on his understanding of your problem so if you want to revert to getting your advice from just one source then do so.

 

350MB unallocated makes me think this was created during an (attempted?) upgrade to W10, durkinjt, can you give us the full history of the 'old' SSD please?

Have you tried cloning/migrating with only the two SSDs connected?

Either way, that unallocated '*' partition does need to be converted to a Primary, or 'basic' partition
