    Hi Folks!

After a week and a half, I managed to isolate my hardware problems, (with hands-on help from a friend,) and rebuild on a fresh HDD, because SOME of the old HDD had corruption issues. I have most of the simple stuff done, like reinstalling my favorite programs, etc.

What I am unsure of how to accomplish is getting all of my old email onto my new HDD, in the usual folders and subfolders, so that Thunderbird goes back to looking like it used to. The data and folders are there, I have found the little hidden buggers, but it is my understanding that a straight copy/paste will not get the job done correctly.

Hence my arrival in the one place I am always sure to get good answers.

As always - Thanks a million!

    Thank you for the reply.

It does have an import feature, but it only lists choices for other email programs, such as Outlook Express, etc.rolleyes I must be missing something simple, because I can't be the first person to be forced to install the program on another drive, and want to migrate the files.

    Thanks!

Well, I'm sure numerous members of this forum use Thunderbird. Hopefully, somebody will read your topic and post.

    Migrating other stuff, too...

While I wait for a reply on Thunderbird, I have several other things I am interested in accomplishing, software-wise:

    1. I need to install a CD and DVD CODEX, so that I can listen/watch disks on my DVD.
    2. I need to import bookmarks from the other drive, for Firefox, and Opera.
    2. I am wondering if I should install additional protective software, beyond Winpatrol, AVG, and SpyBot.

Should I look for answers in this thread, or is it best to start a new one?

    Thanks

Probably best to start another thread, or threads, for those other questions since they are not related to Thunderbird.

    Issues resolved.

This thread can be closed - thank you.
