Limewire starts up over and over without me touching anything, and its not set to start up on startup either.

The computer hangs sometimes. (im using 2% of resources)

Can't use screen savers... they run slower than moo-lassas

CD drives wont work after the computer is on for a few hours... has to be restarted for them to work. (i've brought this up in the forum before and no one had any idea)

The computer is virus free, the HD is clean of spyware, adware, all that shit. All drivers are updated... I can't pinpoint the cause to any of these problems

Anyone have any clue on any of this.. or do I have to call a repair guy for the first time in my life.

edit... oh, just noticed ctrl alt delete wont bring up the task manager... and the new updates for spybot S&D wont download... says !!bad checksum!!

    Some system specs would help.

    What OS (98/XP Home/XP Pro/ME or what?).
    What CPU (P2/P3/P4 or what?)
    How much RAM installed?
What hard drives, capacity and free space?
When was the last time you defragged? Etc., etc., etc.
When / how often do you do PC housekeeping?
What programs do you use for this?

Provide as much helpful info as possible, and those here, at MG, can help much easier.

Everest will help answer these questions, if you don't already have it.

When you run EVEREST, Click on "Computer" icon, then on "Summary", then on "Report" (at top menu), then on "Quick Report Summary", down to "Plain text". Save it to a file, as whatever name you like, (maybe PCddmmyy--with ddmmyy being the current date). Then it can be posted for all to see.

For the bad checksum in Spybot, simply select another server from the drop-down box, and then update.

This is a common problem, and not related to your other problems.

LimeWire is the only P2P application that I've tried, and I only kept it on my computer for a week. The reason that I removed it was because I discovered that it was using my computer as a server, sharing the files that I had downloaded with others ( nothing copyrighted that I'm aware of ), even though I had it set not to automatically start. When I noticed this, it was removed promptly, as I don't like any program doing something like this on its own. Hope this helps! :)
