    using Windows XP Home

    all of a sudden for some reason, when i send something to the recycle bin, it appears empty (the icon itself)... and when i empty the trash, it fills up again (the icon)...

    i know when you right click, properties, and go to the desktop tab, you hit the customize desktop button and it asks you which icons you want to use, they are set correctly... how can i resolve this? thanks

    Yikes, satanic post count dude :eek:

    If you have TweakUI, you could try Repair tab, choose Rebuild Icons, click Repair Now. Might work...

    Those icons are in C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll

    You might have a problem with that file. Try using msconfig to expand a copy from your XP CD.

    [Edit] Doh! A lesson for me to ASK if you've rebooted!
