First off I'd like to say hello to some old friends and soon to be new ones.

Had to take my daughter to Walmart today to pick up some stuff she needs for a JROTC junior bootcamp trip she's goin on. Went by the electronics isle and seen a few GeForce FX 5500's discounted to 80 bucks. One of them had a $32 price on it and I had to pass on it. I did hide it good in hopes its there later, but I doubt if it is.
Always happens when your broke don't it?

I assume you mean $80 US?

That's not cheap for an FX5500.

I know the 80 buck price is high, but if I got the one for 32 that it was marked at, it woulda been a great deal.

Yeah, $32 is OK, but your post said they were discounted to $80.

I love to know how much they were previously selling them for then?

Welcome to MG GLslvrfan. Wallyworld isn't my normal shopping site for puter parts, but that mis-marked card would have been a good deal, if that's good enough to do what you need. Several generations outdated, but definitely worth 32 bucks if they'll honor that. Maybe nobody will paw through the stack.

Walmart around here typically sells them for $120+ US

    $120 for a 5500? Are you sure?

Don't know about your local prices, but from what I've seen, that's not cheap for that card.

I most assuredly am... Not cheap at all... that is the same price they have been at for atleast 2 years... with the occasional sale price of $80... they seem to believe that if they limit the selection, we will all pay what they ask...

i hate wallyworld, and avoid it like the plague. i dont hate it because of politics, or anything else in that frame, i just hate it 'coz i can never find what i want, or how much anything is, or find any assistance, (at least intellegent assistance). i always come out of there with a headache.

That would not be the in-store price at my local WalMart... from whence I quoted the price

@MeitHed, I realise some stores set their own price, and we don't have WalMart here.

However, my understanding is they are like K-Mart, which means all stores (with few exceptions) sell things for the same price, and catalogs and online prices apply to them all.

Which area are you talking about?

Arizona, USA... I looked that up myself, prior to my last post. But was there just the other day... prices have not changed..
