Hi all.....I need help with the following problem I'm having and will appreciate any and all suggestions . During this last week I switched from dial up service to cable.......luv that faster speed!! When the technician came to my house and hooked me up....he installed the cable modem and the ethernet.......well he crashed my pc!!! I lost everything. After 2 days of re downloading updated drivers for everything.....I am left with the followling probelm upon start up and the technician says there's nothing he can do to correct the situation....heres whats happening: during boot up just before my desk top appears on screen I get the message: " Windows Networking: Unable to load dynamic link library: MSNP32.dll" at this point I can not continue to finish booting up unless I hit the OK button to the above message. I have re inserted my original OS disc (Win 98) and copied the msnbc32 file to the windows system area and the pc tells me it was a successful transfer of the file but yet I am stuck with the error message at boot up and can't clear it. Any suggestions on what I might try? Thanks all.......yur the greatest group!!

I don't want to worry you but you've got the wrong file. You said you copied msnbc32 when it should have been MSNP32.

MSNP32 is Network provider for Microsoft-Network.

One suscessful route I know is to re-install the Client for Microsoft network. Have you tried removing the Client for Microsoft Network. Click on OK. It should give you the error your network is not complete do you wish to continue.
Select no then Add. Then Add the Client for Microsoft Network.
Read elsewhere this worked for someone after replacing the file using SFC.

How did you copy it to your windows/system folder? If you did not extract it to the folder you may want to do so to ensure that the msnp32.dll file is properly entered in the Registry.
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.

On the Tools menu, click System File Checker.

Click "Extract one file from installation disk," type msnp32.dll then click Start.

In the Restore From box, type the path to the Win98 folder on the Windows 98 CD-ROM.
If your CD-Rom is D Drive then D:\win98

Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.

Missing file can be found here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msnp32

Hi Maxwell thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I did a typo in the above....... I did not transfer a msnbc32 file.......I did transfer the msnp32.....in fact I did it 4 times so far. I'm going to try your suggestion about removing the client and re-installing and hopefully that will fix me up!!!!
