    HI

I would re-install the program Evolve, and I guess this is a game? and see if that fixes the missing dll.

If not is the game/software from a DVD or download, if download, re-download again from makers site as at times large downloads can be corrupt.

But with that missing dll, its likely that even with a newer version of DirectX in Windows 8.1 you need the older versions dll, for the game. You can get it HERE or better still on the DVD for the game or in the installer files should be the version of DirectX the game developers used.

The DirectX download from DavidGP is not that well know. I installed it in Windows XP & 7. It's what you need. Thanks David.

Oops... DirectX June 2010 is only for Windows XP, Vista & 7.

You'll have to contact Turtle Rock Studios or 2K Games.

Also, you need Windows 7 64-bit minimum.

That DirectX version will work with Windows 8.1, it will just copy the files it needs, you are still left with the original DX version (check dxdiag) just tried on Windows 10.

As OP is not replied back they may have fixed this already.

    Thanks DavidGP.

Microsoft needs to update some of it's web pages. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 requires Windows 7 SP1 and I installed it on Windows 7 without SP1.

You could but the problem that will likely occur is the dll is not registered with the system, thus error may still happen, that is unless you register the dll and this is where it gets not complicated but arseovertit

General way to re-register a dll is at a elevated cmd prompt is regsver32.exe filename.dll but you may have 64bit files.

If using 64bit then this way
    %windir%\System32\regsvr32.exe filename.dll

If using 32bit then you may have to register the dll this way
    %windir%\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe filename.dll

But allowing the older DX11 to install removes this manual route.
