I'm missing a .dll file that I think (from what info I've thus far managed to gather) is specific to laptops running XP home (though it might be something else entirely. I haven't noticed any adverse effects of its being deleted (I think right after I ran Adaware), but every time I boot up an error msg comes up. Anyways, the file and path are/were C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BRIDGE.DLL Basically, I'd like to know what the freak it is, how to replace it if I need it, and/or how to stop the error msg popping up if I don't need it. A way to restore it that is, other than using system restore. If I there's no other way, I will....but I don't wanna.

A quick search on Google brought me to a few other forum pages that states "bridge.dll" is spyware related, that may be why it showed up after running Adaware.

Run HijackThis and see if it is listed as a BHO. If it is, from what I read, you can remove it.

Here's the Google Search, top 2 should give you more info.

    Missing Dll's

Hi, Other folks have beat me to it as the net suddenly got very slow for some reason and I had to reboot.

Check out DLL libraries at www.dll.yaroslavl.ru or www.dllstorage.com.ua/index.htm.

Google search on BRIDGE.DLL will help also. Lots of stuff there on bridge.dll Baz

I once had that dll in the same location . C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BRIDGE.DLL. I ran Ad-dware and spybot and it stilled showed up on my HJT list . the way i had to clear it was to start in safe mode , show all files and folders . hunt it down and delete the sod . But if it missing is that a new ball game ?

Hey Robo no problem, looks like we did the same google search. He said the problem seemed to arise after running Adaware, which leads me to think that it is a BHO that is still stuck in the registry.
