Missing drives

    I am running XP w/ SP2 - I have 2 multimedia drives and they are malfunctioning (the door won't open sometimes; drives disappear when I open Windows Explorer). I have to reboot each time to solve these problems. Does anyone know why this would be happening and what I can do to correct it? Thanks in advance!

    I just rebooted again and got the black startup screen saying to push F2 to continue... The screen told me:

    Drive 4 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-0 PRI IDE (Master)
    Drive 5 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-0, PRI IDE (Slave)

    Does anyone know what could be causing this?
