    Hi all,

I installed a new hard drive into my Dell Inspiron 6000, installed WinXP Pro SP2 and installed drivers.

I am having the same problem with my Network Controller. Only I have installed all the drivers and still see the yellow exclamation point for the network controller.

And for some reason my video controller is also having issues.

Network Adapter: Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller

    Things I have tried:
    1) Reinstalling the driver and letting it "repair" the installation. - No Luck

    2) Opened Device Manager >> Network adapters >> right clicked the Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller >> selected Properties. It says the device is installed and running fine. - No luck

    3) Repairing the Local Area Connection (right click >> Repair) and get an error message (see below). I have disabled and enabled it then tried repairing. - No luck

    4) Installed the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite which still doesn't help.

    Hi

Where you having Network issues before the installation of the new HDD and Windows? just wondering if its hardware failure.

Did you install the Intel Chipset driver first before the other drivers? if you didnt or I woudl also do it again, is to download the chipset driver and install then reboot and try your network drivers again, but this time if you have antivirus running then disable it.

Did you download the Broadcom utility or driver? just checking.

Also enter your BIOS and check your settings for network/ethernet being disabled, if in the BIOS menus it also gives an option to reset then do so as at times new hardware can cause the information in the bios to go funky, then recheck and make sure all bios settings are connrect then save and exit bios. Then try and install your Network drivers.
