Missing file causes Civ 3 Gold to crash

The specific file that is missing is "Art/Flics/alarich.flc"

I'm trying to finish my game as the Macedonian Greeks, but I can't finish my next turn before the game crashes...Luckily the AutoSave feature saved on the turn just before this error occurs.

Does anyone know where I could find this file? I googled it and came up with nothing. Anyone else run into this kind of trouble?

 

btw, this is only the first game I've played on the gold edition, as I just bought it this weekend. I bring this up because the game is actually the "Ancient World" scenario. I didn't know if that would have relevance to the problem or not.

 

Not sure what good it will do, but I'm gonna bump this because I really wanna finish that game.

 

just a thought could you go to add remove programs go to uninstall and go for the repair option usually have to put the original cd in and reinstall all the game files

to be on the safe side try and find your saved game files and back them up as usually when you repair saved games are left alone but if not just copy your backed up files back in

i notice there is a new patch released a couple of weeks ago its only a beta but you never know
