Am running XP Home with high-speed internet. In cleaning house after some malware, I deleted some registry items through registry fix in Ccleaner. Regrettably, I was rushed and didn't back anything up. I have lost a good deal of my add/remove programs - (would they have been corrupted?), all of my SP2 elements and updates, and Firefox (though it still works). Windows Updates folder in Program Files is empty. Lexmark printer is gone from add/remove also and is uninstalled. In desperation, I tried reinstalling SP2 - downloaded ok, but nothing changed. Have run sfc. I have an uncomfortable feeling. Should I do a fresh install of XP? Feeling pretty dumb here and could use some help, please. Thanks.
