missing images IE

Please help. i have tried everything that i know to fix this problem. On most websites, one or two images will not display, usually links. They show as just a red filled in box. No "X". The images are either gif or jpg. I am running XP with SP 2 an IE 6.

 

I get that quite often myself, and I am running the same equipment as you are. usually I see a "this page cannot be displayed...." message.

I just ignore it because I don't feel like hassling around with my security settings, but try lowering them and see what happens. Keep a web site that shows most of the red x boxes under your favorites as a reference page to keep returning to as you change your settings...see if that works. If not, be sure to return to default settings.

I felt it was some "security" quirck with sp2....my opinion only.

 

Hi there...I tried to mess around with the security level in internet options. It was set at Medium. I tried to lower it to medium low, but I get an error message that won't let me go lower then medium. I can't seem to over ride this. Any suggestions? What could be restricting it?

 

Thanks so much for your help. I figured this all out. I have a security program called Freedom. It has a antivirus, firewall, pop up and ad blocker, etc... The ad blocker was enabled and that is why some of the ads were blocked out. I disabled the ad blocker and it is working fine now. Sorry for bothering.
