missing mscd001 driver

hi there im new to this site and im hoping i have posted in the right place...im trying to fix a friends computer...i used killdisc to reformat the computer but it wiped it cleaned so i had to use another program to install a partition...i usually re-install windows using a me bootdisk...but then i realized they dont have a floppy drive on the computer so i burnt a bootable me cd thinking it would work...i get to the point where it says its waiting to install files and then it comes up with an error message saying that the mscd001 driver is missing...im not sure how to ffix this i have read that i have to delete lines in the config.sys file and bat.exe files..but im not that great with computers..lwhen i try to install the windows xp disc it says there is no operating system found...can someone help me please....thanks....Cheryl

 

Are you sure you are booting from CD when you attempted to install XP?

As for the ME I would recommend making another disk copy to rule out any missing or corrupted files on the disk.

 

yes collin i went into the bios and changed it..so it is booting from the cd...and i have tried other copies of ME...so thats what im having problems with...thanks for your reply

 

So what is the last screen seen before the errors?
