Missing Network Adapters - Presario Compaq Cq57 433si - Product: Biz69ea#acq

Hi everyone....I'm new to the site and desperately in need of assistance. An old family PC as listed above, was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 - Windows 10. We lost all network connectivity, NO Network Adapters Visible at all!!! I downgraded to Windows 7 again (done a system restore). As the HP site wants to detect the hardware in order to download drivers, that was a brick wall as we have no network connectivity to do that.

I can download drivers when found from another PC and install on the affected laptop, but do not know what adpaters the Compaq CQ57 433SI was originally loaded with. I have tried by trial and error about 15 x different drivers with no joy. Can someone please assist by directing me to download the correct LAN and wireless drivers (unsure of the network adapters as said above).

If the device doesn't show any hardware, there is no way someone can point you to the correct drivers.

That model shows drivers for : Atheros, Broadcom, Ralink and Realtek.
There are 8 drivers to try. Attach a wire and try the Ralink. If you get no access, try the Realtek 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN (last one of the 8 listed).
Either of those two should work. Then take the computer back to the site and let it scan for the wireless drivers.

The best I can suggest is to look through all the papers for the laptop and see if it mentions the hardware anywhere. I normally cut out the side from the box hardware came in that has the specifications and store that in a zippered case with the disks I make to restore and disks with backup drivers.
