missing operating system HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to back up my computer and I loaded Norton Ghost. When I rebooted my computer said Missing Operation system. How do I fix this?!!

How do I fix this without wipeing my whole drive. I have very important programs. I have another computer and I connected it and I can see all my file but I can not boot from the drive HELP HELP HElp!

 

This did not work now it says Error loading operating system HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I have had Ghost occasionally not work 100% perfectly. Chances are, the data has copied from drive to drive, but not the boot sector/boot information or the file table. Or the partition has not been labeled as 'active'. If you have an XP disc or another way to get into the recovery console, run fixboot and/or run fixmbr and/or bootcfg /rebuild. If you have a bootable partition utility (I use the Active@BootCD or the Spotmau PowerSuite but they aren't free), you can use it to set the partition as active which may be all it needs, so try this first. Look here for some partition tools:

Hi one option is to change the cable from computer to HDD or try to scandisk your drive.. see if it Helps.

 

I forgot to add: if the source drive (the one that was copied) has file system problems or is heavily fragmented or if it is starting to fail, you can end up with problems with the newly created drive. If you still have the source drive, try running chkdsk /r on it and then run a full defrag (or run 2 or 3 different 3rd party defrags on it) then try Ghosting it again.
