    Hi

I am using Microsoft Windows XP HE SP3. When click on Start and then on the menu that opens I click on My Computer I get a window that opens with all my drives. Down the side there should be a panel. I do not know its name. It would have various options on it, e.g. Hide the contents of this drive. This panel has disappeared. I do I put it back?

    Thanks, Mark.:confused

Open Windows Explorer and click on View then Explorer Bar and select Folders. That should allow the left pane to re-appear.

Thanks! But, that isn't what I'm trying to get back. That just gives a list of my folders. The panel I was talking about was blue in colour and one of the options was to hide the contents of a drive or folder. That's what I want to get back.

Go to control panel, open Folder options. In the General tab click on SHOW COMMON TASKS IN FOLDERS. Side bar should come back.
