MMORPG client problems WinXP

I will give the best description I can. I have been trying to play some free MMORPG, the current one is RS (Rilphia Saga Second Age). I download the clients and have updated all the necessary files (vb runtime files). Now everytime I open a client I get no response. I can create new account but then it says sending information and freezes at that point. I have also tried running Vasquaria client and Quest client with the same results.

There have been a couple that work but they are few and far between. I am running WinXP SP2. I have sygate personal firewall but it is set to allow the clients. I have antivir as well. If you can offer some help I would appreciate it.

 

Have you tried disabling firewall and then played?

 

I have closed my firewall and shut down the processes from the process manager. I don't know what is going on. So here I am to ask for any suggestions.
