While I am not 100% positive, I believe this is may be typical of any File and Print Sharing program which WinMx falls under.

    See this link: http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/m/mnemonix_lotek_856.asp

You could try uninstalling WinMx and deleting that file and then download WinMx from MG's here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2230.html

And then reinstall and see if it is still detected as such.

No! I don't think so. As I said in my last message, to test this, just uninstall WinMx and delete its folders when done to make sure everything is gone. You may need to move things you downloaded to a safe place first. After that run your virus scan again and I would assume your should be clean since the files would be gone.

Now reinstall WinMx (but get it from the link I gave yo on MGs). Configure it to get access to their servers again but don't do any download yet. No run your virus check again. If you get the message back on the setting.dat file again, it is just due to how these kind of programs work. Remember when you use programs like WinMx, Kazaa, and others you open a doorway into your PC too.

If you don't use WinMX, just leave it uninstalled. If you do use it, keep your virus & spyware guards running and updated. Do frequent scans and be careful.
