Moar Power?

Im doing a full upgrade of my system. Im upgrading to an ASUS M3N72-D Mobo, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane (2.9GHz) processor, 4 gig (2 x 2GHz sticks) of Kingston DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) RAM, and dual GeForce 9600 GTs, and I have a feeling my PSU isnt gonna be able to handle it. Im hoping it will, because after getting everything, Im a little short on money till my next payday in 2 more weeks. Right now my PSU is a 520W Apevia. Will that be able to handle my new system? It works fine with everything I have right now but its a much weaker setup. I only have 1 x 9600GT and 2 gig of RAM with an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ with 2 gig of RAM (4 x 512MB sticks) so its obviously much less power consumption. Is 520w going to be enough, or will I need something more along the lines of 600w or even 700w? Can I get away with using just one of my graphics cards till I can get a more powerful PSU?

 

Actually, Im using the system thats in my signature, Ive just upgraded to an extra gig of RAM and using a BFG Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3.

 

just remember you need a 64 bit OS to take advantage of 4 or more gb of ram.

 

Ive got Vista Ultimate, and have the 32 bit installed right now, but will probably install the 64bit once I have everything set up. Its still something Im debating on. Arent there not too many applications that support 64-bit OS? Or will they run faster or slower? Im not even too sure, I havent really messed with the 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate.

 

while not every application will take advantage of the 64bit os- Vista 64 will still be able to run them. Your current psu should be upto the job.
