I have a Motorola V360 cell phone (T-Mobile) that will connect to a PC via USB. The extra memory card in the phone will hold songs, videos, pictures, etc., which I copy from the PC. Most of these image and video files I have downloaded from the internet. What I want to know is: can my phone get sick with a virus or STD (Stupidly Transmitted Disaster) from the PC? Also, will programs such as SpyBot check my phone as well if it is connected to the PC? Thanks for any help!

    Good question, BTW

While some phones can contract malware, the malware/virii for phones are fairly rare as they use different operating systems, but if your downloading these pictures, music onto your PC... and if those media files are scanned on your PC, the chances of your phone becoming infected are slim.

But alwasy use the phones software backup util to backup your address/contacts data to your PC or removable media.

I know my Nokia, comes with mobile Symantec AV software for Symbian OS, so they must think theirs a threat for that OS, Motorolas im not too up on so dont know which if any OS they use could possibly be infected, but we have a few phone geeks here who may know.
