Mobo config.

Oh No its him again..>[ Advice taken on last post and have upgraded my memory to 512 DDR 400.. Humm but no real apparent gain of speed from the old 266. But on the bright side folks I have used the ''everest'' and here is the info..
(Bios settings) FSB.FREQUENCY 167 MHz
MEM. FREQUENCY 200%
RESULTING FREQUENCY 344MHz

everest info.. REAL CLOCK 100 MHz DDR
EFFECTIVE CLOCK 200 MHz
BANDWIDTH 1600MB/s
MEMORY SPEED PC3200 (200 MHz)

these results differ dramatically from me other machine both have identical memory and cpu's.. have read up on mobo and it seems it should run as fast as the AN7 ABIT.which is running fine and very fast. The XfX is capable of 400 MHz FSB

Mobo XFX NF2S-ALH Mach 4, A socket
Memory 512 DDR 400
CPU Barton AMD 3000+

any tips would be handy, have looked for jumper settings but nothing relating to speed.

 

Sorted.. just thought I'd pass this on.. The FSB jumper settings on the Mobo were not correctly printed in the manual, in fact the exact opposite.. the 100Mhz was in fact the 166 mhz, and vice versa,so dont believe all you read..

 

Ok Mastertech. point taken about Mobo. Bought as a bundle, Mobo/AMD 3000+/case , at very very reasionable price £180 uk sterling, was looking to buy 3000+ that comes in at £130 so really couldn't refuse bundle. XFX site is rubbish . No manuals to DL at all, but have e-mailed and told them in no uncertain terms to get there act together.. Incidentally i see ''overcooked''(specialist) is running identical Mobo.. lol lol

 

I have an XFX KT33F-ANB that's been working steady for over a year now without a single issue. I'm running an Athlon 2400+ on it with 512megs PC2700.
