Ok, this is a very strange situation....well at least for me anyways.

I have an ASUS P4P800-x mobo, and I do not get no post beeps nor do I get video. The CPU gets hot, the LED on the board lights up and the HDD spins up. Have tried several diffent video cards and have also taken out the cmos battery.

It has 2 sticks of RAM both are 256mb and I have tried both of them, one at a time, in each of the 4 slots.

This has me scrathing my head, and I have no clue what is going on.

    Does anyone have any Idea's?

how do you know the cpu gets hot? do you have a fan/heatsink on it? is it properly seated?
how long did you take the battery out? to reset it, you should leave it out about 30~45 mins.

I felt the CPU with my finger, and the battery has been out for about 20min, and yes the heatsink is properly seated on the cpu.

Wow I must say that I feel like a total tool, lol

After the cmos had become fully reset, and no ram it beeped. then i placed one stick in, and powered on the system and it booted, i then placed the other one in as well and it worked.

thanks for the help really appreciate it
