Mobo or Video Card?

Hey guys I didn't know where to get help, so here goes.

My computer recently wouldn't turn on and I figured out it was my video card. So I replaced it with the same type of card but now it won't stay on. I think maybe the slot my card goes into has come lose and is very temperamental. I don't think it's overheating or not getting enough power. I really don't know what it could. All I really know is I need to upgrade badly. Any help will be appreciated.

ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128mb
2g RAM
350 power supply

 

First clean the gold on the mem sticks
next you need to find out if your memory supports board

 

I believe it's not my memory, I have been using the same ones for sometime now and they have never given me problems.

 

have you reinstalled driver try taking the old driver out and replace it

my bios does not have edough juice to flash i was hoping anyone can tell me if i need to apply power directly to it

Well for starters dude you need to start a new Thread, secondly I dunno what your talking about there bud but to Flash your BIOS you either need the update utility from your MB Manufacturer.

 

What slot is the new Graphics Card? Did you uninstall the OLD graphics drivers and then install the LATEST drivers for the NEW card??

As far as the upgrade goes ... yes I'd have to agree :-D

What did you have in mind? What is your price range? What do you use your PC for?

 

It's in the AGP slot I installed the newest drivers and it still craps out on me. As of now I am working on my brother's computer. Price range? I am not quiet sure 200-300? I don't need anything really hefty at this point. Maybe something that could possible play Diablo 3.

Now that you mention it I didn't I guess I should go uninstall and re-install them. Yes that's US. I think I am going to try my hand at building a new one with Pricewatch.

 

Generally the drivers conflict and cause issues with each other

If your not sure how to find the old driver again let us know and I'll run you through it

This doesn't include a nice Graphics Card ... what kind of games etc do you play?

Those components are just my opinion (I'm an Intel supporter) ... all up its $279 ... I'm also a Gigabyte Motherboards supporter Thats why its a Gigabyte motherboard.
