    hey all.
I'm looking to upgrade my mobo to http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...ails.asp?EdpNo=2768824&CatId=2548#detailspecs

to put a amd 6000 in and i was wondering about the IDE connectors.

I have 2 harddrives and 2 DVD's (one is a RW) and they are all IDEs. So if I have 2 ribbons that can hold 2 things each i should be good with 2 IDE ports on the Mobo..correct?

Well i'm confused about the floppy..i don't plan on using a floppy drive but is one of the IDE ports on the Mobo just for the floppy? so i wouldn't be able to plug in all my things (Harddrives and dvds)?

Or are the IDE ports the same for Floppys, Hds and DVD burners?

Floppy drives use a seperate port than the 2 standard EIDE ports (like the 2 on your mobo). Just make sure you have the HDDs on the same IDE Channel and the DVDs on the other channel. Doesn't look like that mobo supports standard floppy so you'll likely have to go External USB floppy.
