mod help

I am sorry if this is content you are aware of but I am not sure.
I have 5 icons on the left of my page; facebook, twitter etc and a facebook and twitter in the uper right hand corner.
Also i was greeted when I signed in by a huge shape telling me to click it as an easy way to receive notifications.
Please dismiss this if this is as it should be or notify me if there is an issue.
Thank you for your cooperation as I know you are very busy.
I notice my spell chack is not functioning either. I used Chrome as I had to paste here and know explorer won't do it.
