Modding an xbox

    has anyone got a modded xbox and how do u go about it(oh im in the uk by the way so any info would be gr8) i was told to try game repair shops, but i wanna know what u can get done to them!

    You might want to reconsider this a lot more before you do anything. You have more to lose than to gain. I've heard that Microsoft has a feature that allows them to disable any X-box that is modified, especially those that have been illegally modified to play pirated discs. There is no guarantee that any mod chip will work as advertised, it requires some knowledge of microsoldering (and the tools, too), and most reputable repair shops won't do it for legal reasons (fear of Microsoft's massive, well-paid legal dept.).

    I know you can change the hard drive on the XBox and get a different one. Also, there is a program (I forget the name of it, sorry. I saw a special on it on TechTV last year) which lets you change the user interface when you turn the XBox on, like you have a bunch of different themes and I think it adds some more options to the interface too.

    You can change probably the processor, Hard drive, and probably add better components but I'm not sure.
