Modding XP

Hello.

Very recently used a Mac (os x tiger) and I really like the lay out.

I understand you can moderate XP but am unsure what the 'limits' of the modding are. Obviously you won't be able to get an exact tiger copy, but is there anything like it out there for the xp?

Is modding your XP a good idea?

Seems if you get a decent enough 'download' things will be alright but I've had no experience of it before and it seems like something that if it does go wrong, it could go badly wrong. So would appreciate any feedback on that side of things as well.

Right-click on the desktop, and click properties. On the appearance tab, click advanced. You will be presented with a dialog box with MANY settings you can use to tweak the appearance of XP. These are safe to adjust; they are settings native to the OS.

As for applying skins/changing buttons, you'd have to ask someone more knowledgeable than myself. XP comes with a few default sets, so I would imagine that you can change that as well. I'm just not sure how.

I haven't searched that website because I'm not sure how easily modded XP is, or how far you can take the modificaiton - So thats what I'm basically asking on here.

 

Well, my advice would be to experiment!
If you are concerned about affecting the OS, you can set a restore point, try out the download, and if it doesn't work out, simply revert back!
