modem diagnostic help

    okay i have a motorola surfboad sb3100 cable modem and over the past year my internet has been getting progressivly slower is this because of the cable modem being old and close to dying? i have put on a new router to if that helps

    Have you tryed resetting the surfboard, mine has little pin hole where you use paper clip to reset or you simply unplug all cables for few minutes.

    Anything else slow?

    u really doubt it will help for reasons like if it were all at once i would reset it but it was gradual (i think i spelled it right :) ) and if it needed reseting it would be more than just going slow.
