I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, windows ME, Xircom modem.

My external mouse quit working yesterday. Its plugged in, but is not recognized. Built in mouse still works.

Diagnostics show everything ok, except modem. Fails loop back test and at command test.

    Could these be related?

    Thanks

    Mike

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

is it a wireless mouse? if not probably a driver conflict, try updating all your drivers.also it could just be a USB port problem, try using that usb port for something else.

Not a wireless, in a ps/2 port. Reloaded the driver from the configuration disk to no avail. (Logitech Mouseware)

Look in the device manager to see if there are any hardware conflicts.

Doesn't show any conflicts. Modem irq is 11, ps/2 is 12. Device manager shows no conflict with either.
