I have a D-link Pci V.92 modem ,I up -graded to and works excellant,,but it does not dis connect when some one tries to call. They say it justs rings and rings.I am running xp,and have seen approximatly where I need to put some settings,(read a few blogs about string command, prompts?)
Can anyone SIMPLY explain how to do the command change, step by step?
Here are afew facts that I know for sure:
Phone line is hooked in right slot,,Driver installed(disk) with no probs.
Has a answering service feature I chose not to install.
Am only using dial-up,,,have caller ID and call waiting
+ pcw=1 needs to go somewhere ,,I do believe
    Any help is greatly needed...

not an answer to what you asked, but i have to ask. when you are dialing out, you are not blocking call waiting are you? it's "*70".

so, if your dialup # is - 123-4567, and you block call waiting it'd be - *70-123-4567.

when i had dialup (before i started blocking call waiting), i didn't always get kicked off when someone called, it took me a while to figure out what was going on. g/l, sos
