I have a zoom modem I just updated to xp pro. Since I updated now my modem makes noises when dialing up to the internet. I have to use the INIT stringe AT+MS=V34 to connect to the internet at all.(I have always had to use this init string even when I ran win 98se, the phone company says I live to far to connect any faster) But I have never had the noise before. I went in to the modem settings and turned the sound down. But it still does it. How can I stop this annoying noise? Can I use 2 INIT strings at the same time? One to turn off the modem sound then the one I have to use? If so how do I do this? Thanks BanC
