    Hello,

I have recently developed an interest in modifying my WiMAX modem (adding an external 2.5 GHz antenna). The modem is a Motorola CPEi 100 and the provider is Clearwire. I did a Google search and didnt find much on the subject. I found a website that sells antennas in the WiMAX range. I do understand that i will have to do some soldering. My question is if its just a matter of de-soldering a couple of wires from the internal antenna and replacing them with the external ones or if this will be much more involved.

The reason for trying to do the mod is my signal strength drops so low that i sometimes I lose my connection.

I have considered cable and DSL but those services are not available in my area.

Maybe someone who has experience working on long wifi links could help me on this one.

Thanks in advance for all the feedback!

Again im just throwing ideas out there and I will not jump into this project without getting some more information.
