I recently built a new system and all has been well for about a week. However, now I am having an issue with my monitor (which is about 4 years old to be honest).

My problem is the display will randomly go black for about 3 seconds then turn right back on by itself. The blue power light remains on the entire time, and the screen does not turn the blue indicating no input as it does when the PC is off.

It will do this flashing on and off whether I'm in windows or gaming, doesn't seem to have a preference. Sometimes it will do it once an hour, other times once a minute for a 5 minute period.

    My new system:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz
    BIOSTAR A770E3
    SAPPHIRE 100312SR Radeon HD 6950 2GB
    G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1333 (PC3 10666)
    Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V
    Westinghouse 24" L2410NM Monitor

The only things that are from my previous build are the Antec PSU (which is no more than a year old) and the monitor (been with me for a while).

I figure the problem I'm having has to do with either 1) the monitor, 2) the graphics card, or possibly 3) the PSU.

What I find most odd is the monitor seems to continue to receive power but the display itself is going black. Unfortunately, I do not have another monitor to test if it is my system or the monitor itself. I also do not have another computer to hook the monitor up to.

What would you suggest? Thank you for any help!

Well, do you know someone who you could ask to let you connect your monitor to their computer, assuming you haul the monitor to their place? Or, are any computer shops in your area? They might test it for a small fee.

Which driver version are you using? There is a bug in drivers after 10.10e that causes random 100% GPU load which causes the screen to blackout and come back on.
