Monitor flickering

My monitor every so often flickers and was looking like it was fixed earlier when i tried to uninstall the driver and removed the video card and other things like that. I put it all back together and it seemed to work. but it has started happening again. Changing the refresh rate hasnt helped. I have a radeon 9800 pro and a syncmaster 914v. thanks.

 

LCD monitors aren't supposed to flicker... What kind of 'flickering' are we talking, can you describe it? Possible causes are the display driver, in which case it is normal if it only happens during system startup or when exiting 3D applications. Another cause can be a broken backlight, which is bad.

 

the LCD flickers as in parts of it randomly go out like one part will be green on the page and it will randomly go white red then back to green in a line. it looks like part of the monitor doing it but when i tried it with a crt that i got the lcd to replace it still was flickering. i put the monitor up to my laptop and it didnt flicker at all. i tried uninstalling all the ati software and then reinstalling it but that didnt work. i have the Radeon card and an internal Nvida gpu on the motherboard i was going to try out. originally (a year ago) when i put the radeon in it disabled the nvida card. Also when i view a website it doesnt refresh all the way. It was working for a year with out problems but it all started yesterday
