monitor help please

my monitor is F@cked. it is wobbly, and the size is way off, it's like its sunken in and no it's not the settings. It looks stretched out and just about unbearable to read.

I re started my computer but that didn't help. any ideas?? AAAAAA i can't stand it..headache lol

Have you tried degausing it? CRT I assume....?

 

no it is not new

i don't know what you mean by degausing it or CRT

the monitor is AcerView 7176ie

web pages are like a wave and the size /width is huge now.

 

CRT, means it is not a flat screen, its the old tube monitor, right?

Degauss is an option on the monitor itself, the symbol generally looks like an upside down horseshoe with a line through it, try pressing it and seeing if it helps. If not, you likely will need a new monitor.

 

ckb, First thing to do, is borrow another monitor to see if it is the monitor, or the graphics card. If it is the same with another monitor, swop out the graphics card to prove whether it is the graphics card or monitor, or maybe a combination of both. Let us know. Baz

could not respond yest. for that monitor died completely on me. I was able to get a friends monitor now to have but now i am having problems with the color i think. It is very bright on the eyes..gosh it's hard to explain. but makes it VERY hard on eyes. Ideas on how to fix this?

It was probably a mix of capacitors in the vertical deflection and bad connections on the convergence yoke. but if its dead now it might have more problems. Its not something you can service yourself. So it is either get another monitor or get it fixed by a repair center.

What model of monitor is your friends monitor? The manufacturer might have a online manual about the functions. There are usually buttons on the front which will lead you to brightness because it sounds like it is set too high.

 

i feel stupid saying this but i don't know what type of monitor it is. i know it says plug and play..i'm also having problems adjusting the colors

 

Manufacturer's name and model number should be on the front of the monitor case. Extra info will probabably be on a label on the back of the monitor somewhere. Bazza
