Hey folks. I just got a brand new BenQ V2420H monitor. The monitor seems to be working pretty well with the exception of a few issues. The first, it that there seems to be a change in tint from the left side of the screen to the right. Not a major difference, but enough that I can notice it. For example, at the top right of an open browser wondow (I'm running XP on this machine) the window is silver/grey (as it should be), but as it tracks across to the left it developes a slight green/yellow tinge. The second problem is that the image is slightly dark. Most websites look alright, but some that I visit frequently, and know what they should look like, are just too dark. This in itself is not a huge deal, however, when I watch video, anything that takes place in the night, or is just generally low light, is pretty much unwatchable. I've spent ;teh beter part of 2 hours messing around with the settings on the monitor, including using the auto-adjust feature with a test pattern, no luck. My video card (which is onboard) doesn't support DVI or HDMI but the monitor does, do you think a new video card would help? Here's some specs: Acer Aspire AM1640E, NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 620i, hooked up with a VGA cable, Windows XP SP3. Thanks and happy new year!

I think you should re-set it to default and bring it back to where you bought it. It's not your video card IMO.

Usually I would tend to agree, however, after I submitted my initial post, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling my display drivers just to see what would happen. I've now got the darkness issue resolved, but am still seeing a green tinge in the upper left corner of the screen. So, I hooked up my laptop (via VGA) to the monitor, and I'm not seeing the tinge at all on that. The laptop is running 7, not sure if that would make some sort of difference or not...

I may have to eat my foot on this one.;) Only way to be %100 sure is to borrow someone's video card who has the proper format, like AGP or PCI-E. Good luck as I'm out of ideas.

Yup I think that may be the next step here... I may actually have something kicking around here I can install to try it out. I'll keep you all posted.
