I currently updated my video card (Radeon 9520) and I double checked everything and followed the instructions step by step. But, my monitor will go into safe mode and I don't know if the video card is bad or what. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Step by step instructions again would be helpful. Thanks so much.

well, if you are getting any video the hardware is proabbly ok, make sure you have the latest drivers, also make sure the resolution and refresh rate meet your monitors specifications.

What do you mean by "safe mode"? In safe mode it will say safe mode on the top of the screen and the background will be black. If you don't see that, then do what splitter says.

As soon as i uninstall the integrated graphics card, my monitor is black and when i press the menu key on the monitor, it reads "monitor is in safe mode". I uninstalled the graphics card but it won't let me update the driver from the cd that came with the new graphics card. What's the first thing i should do? Sorry, i am a newbie at this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. And it is a 9250 Radeon Diamond Stealth graphics card. Sorry.

Well, we're going to need some specs here. What is your operating system? What motherboard do you have? CPU? Is it an OEM computer like Dell or HP? If so what is the make/model #? If you're confused take a look at splitters and mines signature, that is the information we need.

ah, you need to disable the internal graphics card from the bios that should fix it.
