Monitor issue

I have a computer where the monitar is very dark, does the monitor have to be replaced or is it the graphics card?

Also would a old graphics card make playing a game very slow, I use the NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4600, if it does whats better than that. within a reasonable price range maxium of $200

1400 mhz
30 gig w. 160 gig external

it may be the monitor--but you can usually get around them by using the Gamma control settings (should be in the video card drivers settings).

the Ti4600 is a great card and will still play most games, but if you're looking to upgrade, the current champ of the mid-price range is the 6600GT ~$160

also, how much RAM does your current system have, and what speed? (pc2100?) that might be another think to upgrade soon if you dont have at least 512MB

as for the speed I thought that was 1400 mhz

 

ok, so you have 768MB of RAM, and just to fill you in, RAM also has a rated speed that compliments the Processor's Front Side Bus (FSB).

if you want to run a system information tool like Everest http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

you can find out a lot about your computer. My guess is that its pc2100 (ddr266) RAM, since the FSB of your processor should be 266.

768MB of RAM is plenty, so a video card would do you well if you were interested.
