Monitor not coming out of Standby

Ok, if I just recently bought a cordless mouse/keyboard and I really like them. However, when I leave my monitor on and it goes into power save mode/standby mode, the monitor will not "wake up." I will turn my monitor on and off but the LED just keeps blinking. Also, if I am IMing and do not use my mouse for a long time, it says that the signal is low. Its like the mouse is on standby or something. They are both microsoft products if that helps at all.
